Nauta and Harrington Win Their 8th Highview 2 Man Championship!

This past weekend the Twenty Third Annual Harwood Plumbing & Heating 2 Man Scramble was held at Highview Golf Course! This year's annual two-day tournament was a thrilling, socially distanced event that had the limit of 112 participants join us. With teams playing in great conditions and warm weather on Saturday; we saw a 1-hour rain delay that caused some teams not to finish on Sunday. Despite the conditions, 46 teams returned to the golf course to finish their Final Round. With all things considered many groups came in with great scores both days!

The winner of this year's 2 Man Scramble was none other than our 8-time Champions, Nick Nauta and Dean Harrington. After posting a 5-Under, 64, the duo were 3 strokes back of the lead after Saturday. Following Rylan Young and Derek Dean, our first day leaders who shot 61, as well as Tony Young/Todd White and Cody Lacelle/Len Gushe who shot 62 and 63 respectively. Going into the Final Round play was from the Blue Tees for the Top Flights, and with some rain and tough pin placements it was a questionable day for scores. Even for the more experienced golfers! Nauta and Harrington shot a terrific score of 8-Under, 61. Tying Young and Dean for best score of the weekend at 61. Returning as winners for the first time since 2015, they took the tournament with a combined overall score of 125.

Congratulations to this year's winners!

As stated, the low rounds of the weekend were; Saturday - Rylan Young & Derek Dean (61) and Sunday - Nick Nauta & Dean Harrington (61).

Since 2014, the Harwood Family and Highview Golf Course have teamed up to hand out a special honour for the team(s) in the annual tournament who were noticeably having the most fun throughout the two-day event. The award was named after Bruce Milne, a man who was known for having a great time on and off the golf course, especially at our Harwood 2 Man Tournaments. With only one Sunday draw this year, the 2020 recipients of the Bruce Milne Memorial Award are Will Campbell and Dennis Harling.

Overall there were Seven Skins won on Saturday, Six won Sunday by 4th to 7th Flights, and Six won Sunday by Champ. to 3rd Flights. For a total of 19 Skins totalling over $1800!
