Chaput and Blauth capture First Harwood 2 Man Title!

The Twenty Second Annual "Dennis Harwood Plumbing & Heating" 2 Man Scramble was held this past weekend at Highview G.C.! This year's annual two-day event brought in many new faces as we had a full roster of 190 players over the weekend. With teams playing in great conditions and warm weather all weekend long, we also saw many fantastic scores throughout! The winner of this year's 2 Man Scramble was none other than our first-day leaders, Mario Chaput and Cody Blauth. After posting a 10-Under, 60, the duo teed off in the Afternoon on Sunday with Nick Nauta and Dean Harrington, who shot a 61 on Saturday. Going into the Final Round playing from the Blue Tees and with some tough pin placements it was a questionable day for scores, even for the most experienced golfer. Chaput and Blauth came out firing in the last round of the weekend shooting another fantastic score of 6-Under, 64. Finishing the tournament with a combined overall score of 124 (60-64). This is Mario and Cody's first Harwood 2 Man win at Highview Golf Course; Congratulations!

Other notable scores from the weekend were former winner Chris Derochie and partner Evan Burton finishing Second (Combined Score = 64/62 ~ 126), past winner's Harrington and Nauta shooting 61-67 for a 128 and last year's winner Rylan Young with partner Ryan Jardine shooting 62-65 for a solid two-day total of 127. The low single-day score for Saturday & the tournament was Mario Chaput and Cody Blauth's Saturday score of a minus-10, 60. The low Sunday score was shot by Dan Madigan and Tyler Hummel who shot a 9-Under, 61.

Since 2014, the Harwood's and Highview Golf Course have combined to hand out a special honour for the teams in the morning draw and afternoon draw who were noticeably having the most fun throughout the tournament. The award was named after Bruce Milne, a man who was known for having a great time on and off the golf course, especially at our Annual Harwood 2 Man Tournaments. The 2019 recipients of the Bruce Milne Memorial Award are Judy Harwood and Sam Gravel (Morning Draw), as well as Russ and Tyler Tennant (Afternoon Draw).

Overall there were Four Skins won on Saturday, Four won Sunday Morning, and Four won Sunday Afternoon. For a total of 12 Skins adding up over $2700!
